Hey! You found us!!
(last update 6-2010)

Welcome to 5:01's site. We have posted tunes that will give you an idea of the music we play. One of our main goals is to have fun with our music & that includes lots of laughter, not to mention the camaraderie that comes with it.
The music is taken from our rehearsals, to live shows, to some beginnings of studio work.
NEWLY POSTED!! Check out the latest version of Six Miles to Fairlee (v_8.2.1).
Also our long-awaited CD, Survivor, will be out this year!! We'll keep you posted

Most of what we play are originals with some covers sprinkled in......Come, listen, enjoy.

So, before you listen, you can read a little about the guys or you can go right to the listening stuff and click on Enter.

Mark Wells: Vocals & rhythm guitar. Mark grew up in Australia and later became active in the Christchurch (N.Z.) folk music scene, both as a solo performer and as one quarter of an a capella group singing a mix of traditional folk, barber shop, and jazz. He moved to Seattle in 1991, then spent the next 11 years trying to find a way to Vashon, which he did in 2002 with his wife and then four year old son. The wealth of great musicians on the Island inspired Mark to once again get serious about music.

Luke McQuillin: Lead guitar & vocals. Luke strives to have fun every gig and has a colorful melodic way of expressing himself. Aside from noodling around and playing awesome guitar solos, tasteful color notes and chords, he loves being home noodling around there, too.
He has been playing professionally off-and-on for almost 40 years and now mostly plays for therapy. His roots are in rock-n-roll, country rock, R & B & Jazz. Luke has been in various bands playing a lot of the Islands venues since he moved to Vashon 8 1/2 years ago.

Geordan (G) Mitchell: Drums & percussion. Better known as "G", a third generation from Manzanita Beach, has been beatin' the skins and rattlin' traps since he exited the womb back in the 60's. Always taking a liking to life on the island, he took up full time residence.

Doug Ringer: Bass guitar & vocals. Together Doug and G hold down the beat & drive of 5:01s bottom-end. In addition to 5:01, Doug plays with Turner Down, the Worry Brothers, and almost every other band on the island (or so it is rumored). He sat in with Michelle Shocked when she visited Vashon and opened for Suzanne Vega as a member of Westside Highway.

Jack Barbash:Years of playing in orchestras, symphonic/pit bands (including conducting/arranging), fusion/rock/blues & flowertop-country-reggae bands have ensured that Jack would never again return to the straight and narrow. Currently he smiles while generating musical mischief with Turner Down, Island Fusion, & 5:01.
